Ziqitza Healthcare : Ziqitza Raising Road Safety Awareness

Road Safety Week is a campaign initiated by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways. It was important keeping in mind the increasing prevalence of deaths owing to road accidents. About 1.3 million people die on the world's roads and 20 - 50 million are injured every year. Road traffic crashes are a major cause of death among all age groups and the leading cause of death for children and young adults aged 15–29 years.

All types of vehicles such as buses, trucks, motorcycles, motor cars, cycles and all modes of public transports have to adopt strict road safety measures to avoid road accidents. Many precious lives are lost in rampant accidents; if road safety rules will be applied the mortality rate on roads will decrease. So to combat many methods of spreading awareness are implemented to ensure that India’s roads can edge closer to becoming a completely accident-free zone. Traffic rules and guidelines have to be set in place and strictly followed so that serious accidents and injuries can be averted. Millions of lives can be saved and injuries prevented with well-enforced road safety laws on speeding, drinking and driving, and use of seatbelts, child restraints and motorcycle helmets. Road design, improved vehicle standards and better emergency care also save many lives. This year, we have celebrated 32nd Road Safety Week saying “Safe yourself to save your family” ensuring you keep safe. The aim of the Road Safety Week is to create awareness about road safety rules to be followed by road users. Awareness will also be created on traffic signals, road accidents due to carelessness as well as care and patience to be exercised while using the road.

During the whole week celebration of this campaign, a variety of educational banners, safety posters, safety films, pocket guides and leaflets related to road safety are distributed to the on-road travellers. Commuters are also explained about the methods and necessities of road safety and how they must understand the use of helmets or seat belts while driving on the road or anywhere. Ziqitza Healthcare also actively participates every year with the Ministry’s efforts to create awareness about road safety in Odisha where our 108 Ambulance Team distributes the pamphlet, do nukkad natak on the streets reporting highest accidental cases. The team gets scattered around the streets with the boards in hand to convey the road safety message. The rally is also passed through arterial roads and crowded places in the town to create awareness among the people of the importance of following road rules. While encountering and witnessing many accident cases and serving the accident victims by providing timely medical aid and transferring them to the hospital 108 Ambulance team of Ziqitza knows well how important it is to create constant awareness around this. Ziqitza Healthcare Ltd has served more than 30 million people in emergency situations across India and has also received FICCI Road Safety Award for the noble cause.

Ziqitza Rajasthan urges every citizen to leave no chance of criticizing India’s road safety, there is still a lot that you can do at the ground level. In case you see any accident or face one, immediately call 108 Ambulance, which is free for all. Your simple call can give someone timely Medical Aid that can save there’s life.
